Areas of Intervention: Health, Water, Agriculture, Peacebuilding, Culture, Humanitarian Aid
Somalia Action is an aid program for the people of Somalia.
From 2011 until the end of 2014, Perigeo has implemented a series of initiatives that have allowed us to establish a stable and trusting relationship with Somalia, enabling projects to be carried out which aim to develop and improve the living conditions of the Somali people .
To date, Perigeo has sent 6 containers with medicines, medical equipment and other humanitarian aid to Somalia, with a value of over $12 million. These became the first containers from Italy to reach Puntland, Somalia in more than 20 years.
The intervention program Somalia Action in recent years has evolved with:
– The sending of six ‘aid’ containers filled with basic necessities and medicines worth more than 13 million USD;
– The construction of a pharmaceutical laboratory that produces cheap drugs conforming to European standards (amoxicillin, diclofenac, omeprazole, acetaminophen);
– The foundation of a dental practice to increase the supply to Galkayo Hospital, and serve the people;
– The construction of 103 water wells and farmland for agricultural training.
